Our Goal
- To raise money for families in rural Kenya by sponsoring a community-wide carnival on September 6, 2008.
- To empower kids to be leaders.
- To raise awareness of the poverty and struggles in many parts of the world.
- To bring the community together for a good cause.
All of the money raised goes to the "UMOJA Project", which means "Unity" in Swahili. It will provide support to orphans and vulnerable children in the following ways:
- Food, clothing, bedding, basic needs.
- School fees and uniforms.
- Training, counseling, and support services through local contacts in Kenya.
The goal is to provide a "hand up", not a hand out, to train people to be self-sufficient.
